Chiropractic · booking systems

One line in Cliniko's help centre explains most broken chiropractic reporting.

The software your front desk chose determines whether your advertising can be measured. In chiropractic that decision was usually made years ago, by someone solving an entirely different problem.

The systems

What each one will and will not tell you afterwards.

Checked against vendor documentation and help centres. The relevant question is not which is best clinically, but which permits a working measurement chain.

No market share survey of Australian chiropractic practice software exists, so this is a capability comparison and not a ranking by adoption.

A useful diagnostic

You can tell which system a clinic runs from its Book Now button.

Each of these systems leaves a fingerprint in the booking link. Cliniko sends patients to a subdomain ending in cliniko.com/bookings. Jane uses janeapp.com. Nookal uses book.nookal.com. PracSuite uses bookings.pracsuite.com. Zanda uses clientportal.zandahealth.com, and some clinics still carry the legacy powerdiary.com links, which are both a broken tracking chain and increasingly a broken link.

This matters commercially because it takes about ten seconds to establish, before any conversation about tracking work, whether a working measurement chain is even available on the clinic's current stack. Any agency quoting for conversion tracking without checking this is quoting blind.

Claiming and the association gap
HICAPS does not appear anywhere in Cliniko's connected apps directory of roughly ninety nine integrations, with Australian claiming running through Tyro Health instead. Nookal shows HICAPS, Medicare and DVA. PracSuite is the only system in this set naming the workers compensation schemes directly, including WorkSafe Victoria, WorkCover Queensland, icare and Comcare, which matters given how much Australian chiropractic revenue arrives through those channels. Worth knowing separately: neither the Australian Chiropractors Association nor Chiropractic Australia endorses any practice management or booking software, so no vendor can honestly claim association backing.
Straight answers

Questions clinic owners actually ask

Which booking system is best for a chiropractic clinic that advertises?
On the narrow question of measurement, the systems with a documented API and a booking flow you can control are the ones that permit a full conversion chain, which in this set means Nookal, PracSuite and Cliniko with a custom form built against its API. Jane is the most constrained, because it has no open API and always sends the patient to another domain. That is not a clinical judgement and it is not a reason to switch systems. It is a reason to know which tracking architecture is realistic before anyone quotes you for one.
Can we keep using Cliniko and still track chiropractic conversions properly?
Yes, but not with a standard tag. Cliniko blocks third party code on its booking pages and its embedded iframe reports bookings as Direct, both documented in its own help centre. The workable routes are building your own booking form against the Cliniko API so you control the page and can store the click identifier in a patient custom field, redirecting to the Cliniko hosted domain with cross domain measurement configured deliberately, or matching conversions on hashed email and phone rather than the click identifier. The last of those works on any system and is usually the pragmatic starting point.
Does HICAPS integrate with chiropractic practice software?
It depends on the system, and Cliniko is the notable gap. HICAPS does not appear in Cliniko's connected apps directory of around ninety nine integrations, with Australian claiming handled through Tyro Health instead. Nookal displays HICAPS, Medicare Australia and DVA. Zanda claims native Medicare and DVA lodgement without a terminal. If on the spot claiming matters to your front desk, that is worth confirming against the vendor directly rather than against an agency's summary, including this one.
Is there an Australian practice management system built for chiropractors?
Yes. iconpractice, based in Melbourne, describes itself as built specifically for chiropractors, osteopaths and myotherapists. That makes chiropractic the only one of the manual therapy professions with a dedicated Australian built system marketed to it by name. We have not verified its API or export capability, so if measurement matters to you that is a question to put to the vendor before assuming it is available.
