Australian emergency clinics publish that their consultation fee can be obtained by calling. That is a designed funnel, and it means call tracking is not a supplementary metric here, it is the whole measurement.
Emergency veterinary clinics in Australia do not publish their consultation fee. Several state openly that the fee can be obtained by calling. That is not an oversight, it is a deliberate design that moves the conversation to a person who can triage the animal and set expectations before quoting.
It also means an account measuring form submissions is measuring the minority path. The conversion in this vertical is a call, frequently outside business hours, and often long, because triage takes time. Counting every ring, or counting a fifteen second hang up, produces a number that flatters the account and misleads the clinic.
If the category really does withhold price to force a call, it should be visible in what clinics publish. It is.
| Provider | Published emergency consult fee |
|---|---|
| ARE Centre, Broadmeadow NSW | $365.20, plus 50 per cent of the treatment estimate up front |
| MediPaws, Leichhardt NSW | $295 |
| AES, SASH, Perth Vet Emergency, the AEC network | Nothing published |
Checked September 2026. Two providers out of the major Australian emergency networks publish a number. For comparison, one Melbourne general practice charges $98 for a standard consult and $173 on a Sunday or public holiday, a 76 per cent loading. Price led ad copy is not viable in this category, which is exactly why the call is the conversion.
Unique first time callers over about 60 seconds. Then split them by when they came in, because an overnight emergency call and a Tuesday afternoon vaccination enquiry are completely different outcomes with completely different values.
We read the widget code: Vetstoria renders in a cross domain iframe, so a tag on your page cannot see the booking, and the ezyVet portal carries no analytics at all. Neither will report a booking on its own. Our booking systems page sets out what each platform can and cannot return.
ezyVet publishes a developer API and read only access to your own data is free. The Covetrus systems, RxWorks and VisionVPM, are on premise and route through a slow partner process. OpenVPMS is open source with a directly queryable MySQL database, which makes it the easiest platform in the market to wire up, not the hardest.
A vaccination and an overnight emergency admission are not the same conversion. Where the practice system can return the invoice value, the bidding can learn the difference. Without it, the account will optimise toward whichever is cheapest to acquire, which is always the routine visit.
Especially in an emergency clinic, where the phone is the funnel and a broken tracking number looks exactly like a quiet fortnight.
If the booking cannot fire a conversion, the account is either running with no conversion signal at all, or it is optimising towards something standing in for one. Usually that is a phone number click, a page view, or arriving at the contact page.
None of those is a booking, and the bidding will get better at producing whichever is cheapest, which is generally the one least connected to revenue. That is very likely the most common broken thing in Australian veterinary advertising, it is invisible without opening the widget source, and we have not seen an agency page anywhere mention it.
It is also diagnosable in about two minutes on your own site, which is what we do before quoting rather than after.
